A-Rod says he is 'at ease, no matter what' about his relationship with Tony Galea (inset), but he still doesn't know when he'll speak to federal agents investigating the embattled Canadian doctor.
If the spotlight of the widening probe into Canadian doctor Tony Galea is getting to Alex Rodriguez, he isn't showing it. Less than 24 hours after Galea acknowledged treating Rodriguez last year, the Yankee superstar said he is "at ease, no matter what" comes from the federal investigation surrounding his former doctor. A-Rod added that he still doesn't know when he'll meet with the feds. "Nothing new to report," Rodriguez told reporters Tuesday morning at Steinbrenner Field, the Yankees' spring training facility in Tampa. Rodriguez said he was aware that Galea had told The Associated Press on Monday that he had worked with the third baseman during his rehabilitation from hip surgery last year, treating what Galea described as a sore hip with anti-inflammatories. "Guys, listen, I'm not going to get into any of this," Rodriguez said. "But I appreciate the questions." Meanwhile, in Tucson, Ariz., Colorado Rockies closer Huston Street confirmed that federal investigators might talk to him about Galea. Street told The AP that he "might be interviewed by the U.S. Attorney's office regarding the case or by the commissioner's office or both." The Rockies closer says he was treated by Galea in Toronto in 2007 and 2008 while he was pitching for the Oakland A's. Street says he saw Galea for an irritated nerve in his elbow and problems with his hip and quadriceps. Street added that he received mostly chiropractic treatment from Galea, as well as oxygen therapy, according to The AP. Galea was arrested by Canadian authorities in October after human growth hormone and other drugs were found in the car of his assistant, Mary Anne Catalano, during a border traffic stop near Buffalo in September. He faces four drug-related charges in Toronto and is also at the center of a U.S. drug investigation conducted by the FBI and other federal agencies. FBI agents have spoken to the Mets' Jose Reyes and Carlos Beltran about Galea.
